My Experience At Shaw Theatres, JCube IMAX!!!

Sponsored Event

Hi guys!!! Got invited by omy.sg to watch The Amazing Spiderman at Shaw Theatres JCube, IMAX. Hehehe, it was my first time watching a movie in an IMAX Theatre!
Shaw Theatres JCube is cinema operator's latest multiplex and it opened on 5 April with 7 screens, including an IMAX theatre (Singapore's second). Bringing Hollywood blockbusters and quality entertainment right to the doorsteps of residents in the west of Singapore.

About Shaw Theatres

Shaw Theatres, part of the Shaw Organisation, was founded by the Shaw Brothers and has been operating cinemas in Singapore since 1927. With Shaw Theatres JCube, it now owns six multiplexes across the island, and they feature the latest in cinema technologies like IMAX, Dolby 7.1 Surround and RealD 3D systems. Shaw Theatres also manages a seventh multiplex, Century Cineplex, which is privately owned.

Hmmmmmm, if you guys are wondering what is IMAX?

The IMAX's Digital Theatre System offers the most immersive movie-going experience possible. For a start, IMAX’s projection technology delivers crystal-clear images. The dual projection system projects left-eye and right-eye images simultaneously thus eliminating depth distortion during fast- moving scenes.

IMAX’s audio system creates laser-aligned digital sound for accurate and realistic sound images with the largest dynamic range. This enables the sound to be crisp enough to hear a pin drop and precise enough to know exactly where it dropped!

Then there is IMAX’s customised theatre geometry, which maximises your field of view. The high- gain screen results in exceptionally bright images and unparalleled 3D effect. The screen is also slightly curved and sits closer to the audience, creating a larger effective screen, which is equivalent to a 20% to 230% increased in screen area.

The IMAX Experience is recognised around the world as of the highest-quality and most immersive cinematic experience ever created. Movie fanatics were willing to wait two to three weeks for seats to the IMAX versions of major blockbusters like Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol at Shaw Theatres LIDO IMAX! There is clearly a demand for IMAX Digital Theatres.

It was a pretty cool experience watching The Amazing Spiderman in IMAX! Basically to summarize what I said on top because some of you guys might get confused between IMAX experience and a regular normal theater.

IMAX is a huge theater with a gigantic curved screen. It's usually the most advanced top quality sound and video to show movies. It's definitely worth seeing on IMAX its fun and a nice experience.

WHY IS IT BETTER THAN NORMAL THEATRES?

1. Crystal-Clear Images
Whether you're experiencing a movie in 2D or 3D, the visual clarity is unsurpassed.

2. Laser-Aligned Sound
A powerful state-of-the-art digital surround sound system features laser-aligned loudspeakers precisely tuned for each movie presentation. You'll experience fantastic sound quality regardless of where you are seated.

3. Immersive Theatre Geometry
IMAX theatre geometry is designed to maximize your field of view. You'll feel fully immersed-like you're IN the movie !
With Regine & Christina! (:

Lastly, gonna end this post with a group photo!

My experience at Kim's Family Food (Korean Food)

I was recommended by my friend Qin Pin to try out this Korean Restaurant that she had been telling about for ages that I really must come and try! She told me that there are more than 10 side dishes they offer and guess what? They are all FREE and refillable. Well to me, I not into Korean cuisine, but I decided to give it a try and experience the authentic food and ambience over at Kim's Family Food! There are 3 outlets in Singapore and we visited the one at 17 Lorong Kilat (near to Nooks DIY Pancakes). Top 10 Cheap and Affordable Places for Students to eat in Singapore

Most of the time during lecture, my friends and I would be in class whatsapping each other in our own personal group chat discussing about what should we eat after school. (Don't bluff, I bet you done it before too). Usually, we will not be able to think of a location to settle down hence we will end up searching online. Over the entire year, my clique and I have been hopping around places to find the best spot to eat and I have successfully list up some of my top places that we usually will hang out after school. Of course, being students (if you work or not work part-time), we will always be on budget constraint and do not want to spend a lot in a meal. After months of exploration, I would like to recommend some places (you might have been too or might not) that you will probably want to visit with your friends one day! What we usually look out for: 1. Places you can sit and chit-chat for more than 1 hour 2. Pocket-friendly prices (preferably below $25, ranging from $5.50 -
