My experience at KARA Cafe and Dessert Bar (Bukit Timah)

A cozy cafe located along the streets of Bukit Timah, a walkable distance from Tan Kah Kee MRT Station. KARA Cafe and Dessert Bar is no stranger in the neighbourhood as they have been around quite some time. The cafe primary focuses on serving Los Angeles-inspired “all-day dining” food and healthy eats such as yogurt. You may wish to know that the cafe is under the popular yogurt chain, Sogurt. Recently, I was invited by the cafe to try out their newly introduced items on the menu which is inspired by a Cali-Asian theme.

Ambience: 7.5/10
Cozy environment to relax and chill with your friends after school. The fixtures are decorated with a nature-inspired theme.
Tropical Smoothies
(Left, Tropical Peach Mango; Right, Chai Avocado Shake), SGD$8.20
I wanted to go for the standard coffee/tea, however decided to go with a smoothie instead. To my surprise, it was refreshing and yummy. I really enjoyed my tropical peach mango smoothie as the drink was well-balance and not too sweet.

Orh Nee,Yam Cake from Buttertrade

Ever since when I was little boy, whenever I attend a wedding dinner, the food item that I always anticipate the most has got to be the orh nee dessert. I mean who doesn't loves yam! So creamy yet sweet! Sometimes I wish I can find them at dessert stalls but you can rarely find them nowadays. Recently, I was greeted with an orh nee cake right at my door step thanks to Buttertrade

The cake is from Bloomsbury Bakers delivered by Buttertrade.

What is Buttertrade all about?
You may have heard of shopping online for clothes and fashion accessories but have you heard of shopping for desserts and cakes? Buttertade is an online marketplace of various boutique bakeries that offers a complete solution to cake buying. Over at Buttertrade, you can choose from a variety of cakes from different bakeries and even make customised orders. Once you place and order, Buttertade will liaise with the bakery and deliver it to your door step.

My internship in Japan (Niigata)

If you haven't read my previous blogposts about my overseas industrial attachment at Japan you can click on the links below:''

Working in Japan is one of my greatest experience so far! The people there are so nice to communicate too and they are not only patient but very kind too. Despite the communication barrier, we were still able to translate our body language to talk to each other. The only funny thing is when we have to use Google Translate to talk to each other. Above is a picture of a huge tentage that my colleague and I built. Do note that everything including the tent sheets are made from scratch!

I was attached to a logistics company during my internship period! The company has many years of experience in the industry thus I learnt plenty of things about administration & practical work. Japanese are very passion…
