Calling all inspired film-makers, you can now get to expose your full potential and allow your hidden talent to shine in doing what you do the best, FILM MAKING!! 


Q: Introduction to Cathay Motion Picture Awards

The CMPA is a short-film competition organized by the Cathay Organiastion. It was first introduced in 2012 and after 2 successful years, the competition is back again for it's 3rd year. CMPA is also Cathay Organisation's annual signature event fulfilling Cathay Organisation’s conviction towards the development of Singapore’s film industry. You probably have heard of this awards before right?! Basically it serves as a good platform / head start for you, if you have interest in film making or either you had the relevant skills and might want to give this competition a shot!

Q: Things You Might Want To Know!!

 1) YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE YOUR OWN FILM!

YES! During the competition, you will be required to make your own material! Expose your wondrous creativity in whatever ways to impress us! What's more, there is NO AGE limit for this competition thus it doesn't matter if you do not have any experience in filming making or so. Just if you have the passion into entering this industry or you want a recognition for your efforts, then this is the right competition for you! :D

2) ATTRACTIVE PRIZES & BENEFITS 



Best Motion Picture: 
 $15,000 in cash (the largest cash prize for a short film competition in Singapore)  Exclusive Cathay VIP card worth more than $4,000 for each member of the team - Screening of motion picture in all Cathay Cineplexes for 8 weeks in 2015.

1st Runner up:
 $8,000 in cash - Exclusive Cathay VIP card worth more than $4,000 for each member of the team  Screening of motion picture in all Cathay Cineplexes for 8 weeks in 2015.

2nd Runner up: 
 $5,000 in cash - Exclusive Cathay VIP card worth more than $4,000 for each member of the team  Screening of motion picture in all Cathay Cineplexes for 8 weeks in 2015.

Q: What Will The Contest Be About (This one you need take note)

 In conjunction with Cathay Organisation's 79th anniversary this year, participants will be given 79 hours to produce a 79-second long motion picture (sounds fun right?)

 WHAT? 
 Given theme will only be revealed on the briefing day which will be on 17 May 2014

WHEN?
The 79 hours will start on 17th May, 12pm to 20th May, 7pm 

WHEN DOES REGISTRATION CLOSES?
Online registration closes on 14th Maywalk-in registration starts from 8am to 9am on 17th May.

This is kinda late but whatever. Happy Chinese New Year!! Visited Chun Dao He Pan at Marina, The Float!!!! Quite a lot of chio photos, exception for me. I just had a hair cut. IT'S DAMN SHORT OMFG. My Experience At Shaw Theatres, JCube IMAX!!!
